On Sept. 25, Councilmember Price held a grand opening for the second skatepark in the District at Trinity Recreation Center. The event served as a testament that the most influential leaders are “homegrown” and come in all ages. Years back, some local middle schoolers in District 9 started a petition to show the demand for a new skate park. Moved by their passion and persuasion, Councilmember Price prioritized creating a 3,000 square-foot world-class skatepark at Trinity Recreation Center for the community.
In addition to the ramps and rails, park improvements include new benches and security lighting features, new turf and landscaping, a new sustainable irrigation system, and more than a dozen trees for shade. This would not be possible without partners like the LA Department of Recreation and Parks and all the Trinity Recreation Center staff.
