Recently, the LA City Council put into place renter protections that prohibit landlords from evicting tenants who are unable to pay their rent due to the COVID-19 health emergency.
If a tenant is unable to pay rent due to financial impacts related to COVID-19, the landlord must be notified before rent is due or within 7 days after the rent due date. To assist Angelenos, the City's Housing + Community Investment Department developed a form for tenants to use to inform their landlords of any payment delay.
