Team Price and Community Partners Come Together to Support Youth, Families

Team Price kicked off a weekend full of fun on Aug. 14 as they came together to celebrate the youth that makes up CD 9 and gear up for the new school year with neighbors. The Office of Councilmember Curren Price continued its Summer Saturdays Extravaganza by hosting a Back-to-School BBQ and Supplies Giveaway in Vermont Square Park, gathered for the BTROC 5th Annual Founders Day Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway and Block Party, and joined the Back 2 School Giveaway in partnership with South Central United and Believe in Giving at Dr. Maya Angelou High School.

The District 9 community events offered everything from free food and school supplies, to hair cuts, distribution of personal protective equipment, entertainment and other family-friendly activities. Councilmember Price would like to thank all who joined the festivities and the many community partners that participated, including Voices Neighborhood Council (VNC), Community Build, Inc., Brotherhood Crusade, and many others!
