Curtis Earnest currently serves as Chief of Staff to Los Angeles City Councilman Curren Price, where he oversees the Councilman’s City Hall and district operations. Curtis also served as Price’s Chief of Staff during his tenure in the California State Assembly and Senate during which time he advised the member on a myriad of issues including his efforts to expand the California Legislative Black Caucus.
A veteran of the public and private sector, Curtis has over 35 years of public policy, management and advocacy experience. He formerly served as Legislative Advocate for the Millennium Government Advocates lobbying firm where he assisted his clients with policy analysis, issues management and California legislative and regulatory advocacy. Curtis has also served as Chief-of-Staff to California State Assemblyman Mark Ridley-Thomas, the late State Senator Bill Greene, (D-Los Angeles). Curtis has advised a number of political campaigns, and he got his political start working on the campaign of his mentor, the late Congressman Mervyn Dymally.
Curtis holds a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Occidental College. He is a recipient of the Congressional Public Service Award.

Angelina D. Valencia is a bilingual professional with more than 10 years’ combined experience in journalism, Public Relations and communications. She is in charge of developing communications initiatives for “THE NEW 9th” and executes media strategies for Councilmember Curren D. Price, Jr. that resonate with English- and Spanish-speaking audiences.
Prior to joining the City of Los Angeles, Angelina was a Regional Manager for Covered California — the state agency responsible for implementing the health insurance marketplace. In that role, Angelina served as the Southern California spokesperson, conducting hundreds of press interviews across all media outlets, which greatly assisted in increasing Latino enrollment.
Angelina specializes in the planning and implementation of integrated marketing communications plans, and execution of media activities that help increase visibility and public awareness. Her background includes agency experience, having worked at Ogilvy Public Relations across multiple practices, including consumer marketing, corporate and public affairs.
Angelina is a graduate of California State University, Northridge where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. She is a former newspaper reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News.
