On March 4, Councilmember Curren Price held a virtual open house for Slauson Connect, a brand-new, transformational community jewel slated for District 9. The project will provide South LA with cutting-edge education, training, access to information, and the resources needed to help neighbors grow and thrive.
“I fought to use this underutilized parcel as a center that will connect South LA communities for generations to come!” added Price. “Slauson Connect will not only have the green space South LA is lacking, but it will also meet the needs of our youth, as well as our working class community members.”
The first-of-its-kind center in District 9 will include a daycare facility, afterschool programming, a tech center, multipurpose rooms and many other amenities, including recreational activities and a business incubator.
