Councilman Curren Price on Aug. 11 delivered donated laptops and Chromebooks to a complex that is now home to formerly unhoused families.
The complex, operated by the Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System (HOPICS), opened this past summer and is home to about 20 families. The new technology was placed in a newly renovated room that was recently converted into a computer lab.
“I’m delighted to be able to bring much-needed resources to these special families from our community,” said Councilmember Price. “The laptops will help the children with distance learning and allow parents to search for employment opportunities. Their future looks much brighter already and I’m honored to be able to contribute to their growth.”
