On Sept. 25, Councilman Curren Price visited RISE Apartments, which will bring 56 units of housing for homeless veterans and other homeless individuals, and is nearing completion.
Located at 4050 S. Figueroa St., within RISE Apartments, each unit will be fully furnished and include a kitchenette with a refrigerator, cook-top and microwave. Amenities for residents include a community room, a residential courtyard, bike storage, covered parking and laundry facilities. In addition to the residential community, there will be 3,400 square feet of community commercial office space.
When completed later this year, RISE Apartments will offer supportive services and case management offices onsite through the SRO Housing Corporation. A total of 42 out of 56 units were reserved specifically for formerly homeless veterans.
RISE is joining dozens of housing projects that will be bringing much-needed relief to working families and help reduce the homeless population in CD 9. More than 2,000 units of affordable and permanent supportive housing units have been identified within CD9. This includes nearly 1,600 units currently in the pipeline and scheduled for completion within the next two to three years.
