Councilman Curren Price Takes Senior Luncheon on the Road and Delivers Thousands of Hot Meals to South LA Neighbors

Every year, Councilman Curren Price honors the elderly of District 9 with an Annual Senior Luncheon where they are celebrated with live music, dancing, a resource fair and lunch at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 celebration was forced to take on a new form by way of delivering hot meals and care packages for local seniors to enjoy safely in the comfort of their own homes.

Kicking off a week-long mission on Nov. 9, Team Price successfully delivered more than 1,500 meals to senior housing facilities, churches, nonprofits and residences in CD 9, to name a few. To achieve this great feat, the Councilmember joined forces with several local District 9 restaurateurs, including Dulan's Soul Food Kitchen, Viztango Cafe and Delicious Southern Cuisine, to not only prepare the hot meals for the seniors but also lend support to the struggling restaurant industry.
