The City’s Planning and Land Use Management (PLUM) committee voted Tuesday in favor of the mixed-use CityView development on Adams Boulevard and Grand Avenue by the Blue and Expo Line stations.
The project isn't like any other residential and retail development in South LA, said Councilman Curren Price, who represents the 9th District where the new development is being proposed. Councilmember Price called CityView a great example of a quality mixed-used, mixed income, transit-oriented development.
When built, CityView will provide 296 residential units, including 25 for very low-income families and three workforce affordable units. It also will include 5,000 square-feet of retail and restaurants on the ground floor. The project will result in hundreds of construction jobs and a robust partnership with the Vernon-Central WorkSource Center for local hiring.
“I'm ecstatic to be able to bring these kinds of quality projects to our neighborhoods," Price said. "Welcome to theNEW 9th; where projects like CityView are no longer out of reach, but rather ready and eager to come into our community to create something great!”
CityView is expected to go to before the full City Council for final consideration later this month.
