On Oct. 1, as part of the continuous efforts by Councilmember Curren Price to help homeless neighbors and clean the streets, CARE teams were launched throughout the City of Los Angeles with two designated teams devoted to the District five days a week!
The teams are comprised of Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) outreach workers and LA Sanitation workers. Their mission is to clean the areas surrounding encampments and offer social services to the homeless people in the area.
The CARE Plus team is dedicated solely to the Flower/Grand Corridor and an additional CARE team will be serving the rest of the 9th District.
CARE, which stands for Cleaning and Rapid Engagement, is approaching the homeless crisis with compassion, purpose with the focus of improving the quality of life for CD9 residents.
