Robert Katherman has more than 35 years of experience in public and private sector land use and environmental planning as well as project management.
In addition, Rob Katherman has served as an elected Director for the Water Replenishment District (WRD) and Chair of the Water Resources Committee for the past 11 years. The WRD is responsible for managing groundwater in 400 square miles of Southern Los Angeles County. Groundwater in this District provides 50% of the potable water to a population of more than 4 million people.
Katherman also worked for the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering, City Planning Department and the Department of Airports.
Rob served as a Planning Commissioner in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and a Part time Instructor for Environmental analysis and land use planning courses at UCLA Extension, School of Business and California State College Long Beach, School of Engineering.
Rob Katherman Served for 6 years in the US Navy, Civil Engineer Corps as a Construction Project Management Director at Mayport, Florida Naval Station and as a Sea Bee Reserve Commander Long Beach Naval Base Battalion during and after the Vietnam War.
Katherman has a B.S. in Civil Engineering, an M.S in Environmental Engineering and a Masters in Public Administration/Regional Planning.
Rob has been married to Marilyn Greer- Katherman for 35 years. They have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren.
