The Ninth Council District is a community made up of diverse neighborhoods, rich with history and culture, and full of interesting and unique places to enjoy.
At our northern border, the district houses some of L.A.'s most important attractions, including the L.A. Convention Center, Staples Center and the L.A. Live Complex. Thousands of people visit Exposition Park every day – whether it be to see the Rose Garden, Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, the California Science Center or the African-American Museum. If music is what you’re into, take a trip down memory lane along the historic Central Avenue Corridor, once home to so many world renowned Jazz musicians. And if nature is what attracts you, come visit Augustus Hawkins Park – a real green oasis in the middle of the urban landscape – as well as the South LA Wetlands Project, which is a testament to sustainable landscaping and water conservation. With the Metro Blue Line weaving its way through much of the district, it is easy for residents and visitors to make their way around the community. The district is also home to dozens of local schools, and premier higher learning institutions including the renowned University of Southern California, Mt. St. Mary’s College and Los Angeles Trade Technical College.
From expanding and upgrading parks and community facilities to attracting new businesses and launching initiatives that help make our communities safer for residents and families, Councilman Price is excited to help lead a transformation for our community that will help increase the quality of life of our residents.
