Close to 200 people attended the first affordable housing workshop in Los Angeles hosted in Council District 9 and led by Councilman Curren Price.
The information session at Dr. Maya Angelou Community High School on Nov.26 was presented in partnership with Los Angeles Housing + Community Investment Department (HCIDLA) and Hollywood Community Housing Corporation (HCHC).
Members of the community learned where to access affordable housing in the City, and how to fill out an affordable housing application in preparation of future developments in the pipeline.
“I hope the event served as a first step into getting many of our local families into housing,” Price said. “I have made it my personal mission to incorporate all housing typologies, including workforce and market-rate housing, into my overall strategy to help all local families living in my District.”
