My job entails: Anything pertaining to the Northeast region of the Ninth District. This includes working in conjunction with several city and county departments in order to provide our constituents with community resources. In addition to improving living conditions, I coordinate and assist in the planning and execution of special events, workshops, and programs in the District.
What most excites me about my work is: having a positive impact in the lives of our constituents whether it’s big or small.
In the past, I have worked with: Affordable Care Act (nicknamed Obamacare and Covered California); Access Paratransit.
My all-time role models are my sisters, Wendy and Indira, for trekking the muddy waters of being immigrant children, applying to college, and obtaining degrees. They set a great example of hard work paying off and as a result, so have I.
The best advice I’d give to my younger self is: never settle for anything less than your worth, advocate for yourself, and be kind to yourself.
My favorite book of all time is: This Is How You Lose Her by Junot Díaz.
The three things I can’t live without are: family, music, and Tajín.
