A Thanksgiving Message from Councilman Curren Price

When you gather around the table for Thanksgiving, it is my sincere hope that you have gratitude in your hearts and lips. And it is my deepest desire that you cultivate a spirit of joy, thankfulness and generosity that lives on past the Holiday Season.

For me, I'm extremely delighted that my Office wrapped up another hugely successful Operation Gobble! My annual Thanksgiving campaign resulted in more than 1,300 turkeys and $1,000 in gift cards for neighbors who may be having a hard time finding reasons to be thankful this Holiday Season.

I also had the high honor to serve countless of families and seniors at community events happening around the 9th District in the last few days. And I'm reminded about the main reason I went into public service more than two decades ago-for the good of my country and all mankind.

So whether you're planning to celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional turkey dinner, homemade tamales or panes con pollo, I hope we can all share one thing in common: a renewed commitment to family, brotherhood and humanity.

Lastly, I want you to save the date for our upcoming Vermont Square Winter Wonderland on Dec. 6 and Central Avenue Winter Wonderland on Dec. 13. Because community matters; neighbors matter; and only unity can help us heal from what has been a year filled with trials and tribulations.

God bless us all.
