CARECEN Honors Councilman Price for Commitment to Immigrants Rights and Justice

Before a crowd of hundreds of people, the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) honored Councilman Curren Price as a champion for immigrant families during the organization’s 35th Annual Awards Dinner on Oct. 11.

Councilman Price was the recipient of this year’s “Champion for Change” award.

“We may be afflicted in every way, pressed in the political battle of our time, under siege by those peddling hate from DC to LA, but we will not despair,” Councilman Price said during his acceptance speech. “Inaction is acceptance. Inaction is complicity. Inaction is inhumane”

Councilman Price partnered with CARECEN from 2017-2018 to provide FREE legal service and filing fee assistance to individuals and families living in CD 9. The program helped nearly 600 South LA neighbors with their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and citizenship applications.
