Name/Title: Brittney Johnson, Field Deputy

My job entails: Everything in the Western area of the District. Helping to improve quality of life issues in the Western part of the district. Becoming a Liaison between our constituents and City departments by reporting on quality of life issues that arise. I am dedicated to removing bulky items and graffiti, improving community engagement, and keeping our streets clean. I work close with the residents to resolve city related concerns by connecting with the appropriate department and using other resources to improve the NEW 9th.

What most excites me about my work is: Being able to be amongst the community and make a positive change.

In the past, I have worked with: telecommunication departments.

My all-time role model is my Grandfather Frank James Stewart Jr, he was a courageous, strong, faithful and loyal leader amongst my family who wanted the best for his family. He taught me that you must keep God first in your life, work for what you want and treat everyone with respect. He wanted the best for us, so he gave us everything he had. The legacy he left my family was unlike any other.

The best advice I’d give to my younger self is: Give everything your all because nothing is too little nor too big to conquer.

My favorite book of all time is: “Battle Hymn of The Tiger Mom”

The three things I can’t live without are: Three things I can’t leave without God, Family and Starbucks.
